Thanks Bliss Barn!

What a weekend at the Bliss Barn Christmas Market! From 18 mph winds that tore down tents, to meeting an Elvis Impersonator, to ice sculpting, to wagon rides, to Santa Tom, to the best vendor neighbors in the history of vendor neighbors, to being educated that Fairmount Indiana is the home of James Dean, and to of course, selling books! It was an Indiana weekend to remember!

First I'd like to send out a BIG thanks to the organizers of the Bliss Barn Market. This was the first year for the event and there were some pretty big "first year" hiccups but these ladies did everything in their power to make it as right as humanely possible. The turn out was terrific and ladies, if you ever read this blog -- remember the first draft is always the toughest but you all did A LOT right for your first time out and with a few tweaks I see your market becoming a "can't miss" event for years to come! Stay the course!

Next I want to send out an even BIGGER thanks to all the folks who stopped by our table to check out/buy Off The Hook -- and there were a lot of you! I sincerely hope you enjoy the book as we sincerely enjoyed visiting with all of you!

Next is the BIGGEST thanks of all to our vending neighbors -- Jeni and Stephen with "Jeni's Custom Cakes" and to Jenny and her mom at "The Cookie Fairy." I can honestly say these folks are some of the best human beings on the planet.

So thanks to Jeni for the cakes, candy, and "flexibility" and thanks to Stephen for your service, the MRE for the kids, the beads, and all the hospitality! And of course thanks for buying a book and the kind words!

And thanks to Jenny, her husband, her mom, and her adorable daughter for the cookies, buying a book, and talking some hockey! My middle daughter had a great time talking with Jenny and is looking forward to being her pen pal.

Next we had the pleasure to meet Brandon "Elvis" Howard and I'd like to personally thank him for his live rendition of "Love Me Tender" in front of our table. What a great guy and don't be surprised if I base a character off of you in my next screenplay my man! You can check out one of Brandon's YouTube video's here.

It was also fun to meet Santa Tom and learn about his family history of playing Santa. Tom also had this great story about E.L.F.s that I won't give away here because I told him he needs to turn that sucker into a book! Make it happen Santa Tom and thanks for buying a book!

I want to give my final shout out to Jenica who posted the below picture of Bottlecap and Chardonay on the Bliss Barn Market's Facebook page after buying them along with the book this weekend. This just might be the coolest picture we've seen yet!

Have a Merry Christmas Bliss Barn Market and Fairmount Indiana -- it was a pleasure!

John, Michelle, and family
