Saint Joseph School In The Dominican Republic Is OFF THE HOOK!
I am beyond excited to be able to share a few pictures from the Off the Hook play that the amazing students and faculty at the Saint Joseph School in the Dominican Republic put together and shared with me today!
Back in October I was contacted by Ms. Pena, who works at the school, to tell me how all the kids at Saint Joseph were reading Off the Hook and really enjoying it. She later asked if they could adapt the book into a play to perform at their Christmas show which of course I said yes!
Per Ms. Pena, some of the costumes were custom made by a seamstress while others were purchased by parents. The sets were designed by the art teachers, Alana and Raquel. As you can see by the pictures below, all of these talented folks have combined to deliver a truly SPECTACULAR production!
This picture features the "front side" ornaments including the toy soldier, FAO, the spirited ballerina, Izabella, and the white elephant named, WE -- I just can't get over incredible these costumes are as well as the colorful set with the Off the Hook title!
And this one features my kids' characters from the book in Kennedy, Christine, and John IV as well as Christmas crazy Aunt Connie! Note how the star is missing from the tree and how now one of the kids has it! :)
And here are a few more pics ending with the program:
Just an amazing, AMAZING job and they couldn't have represented Off the Hook anymore proudly! Take a well-earned bow Saint Joseph School!
I hope to be able to share more pictures from the play (including one of the Green Bearets which I can't wait to see) and possibly some video once they get approval from all the parents to do so.
In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy these as much as I do and from my family to yours -- may your stars shine bright, your rooftops glow gold, and your Christmas be ...
OFF THE HOOK!
John
